The Wilton Ballroom, a popular Rare Soul venue run by Mouse and Dave Box Live on Stage a Rare Soul musical hero from Chicago Darrow Fletcher. Originally these videos were sold for a tenner and the monies went to Darrow who was on his arse financially. But as time passes it would be a shame for these not to be seen. Those who bought copies of the videos don't have an issue with me uploading the ...

Brilliant allnighters as the saying goes , ruff cut on tour
Thankyou for the videos of great times 👍
ME LIKEE AND THANKS
Haven't beard this song for such a long time!! I love it and she still has that sweet voice!!
But dpose if 191, you were on catchup. But hey ho ktf
You really don't get the Northern Soul scene. There was no 'catch up' we continued to discover, play and dance to newly discovered records. That's what the scene was always about, but those who dipped their toe in for a couple of years in the 70s either forgot or never got in the first place 😂
😂1980"s wtf where were you in 60s eheel, 70s yorch, casino but hsppy you like yr era thst was 3 decsfes in devolping
where were you after your couple of years toedipping? Some of us carried on for 45+ years
Do it, 😊 Queen ❤
It's a little difficult to not sing along with her or the recording. It is engrossing at best.
She is a great Artist that rendered clear and well written songs that will endure forever. I have several of her 45RPM releases and love hearing them again and again.
The greatest song ever made, just pipping The Del Larks.... MILES ahead of anything else (just my humble opinion, of course).
In my Top 10🙏🏼❤️
😂
In 80's I went to Morecambe Pier, Manchester Carousel, Warrington Parr Hall, Blackburn, Newcastle, 100 club, Bradford .. amazing days
Amazing nighters as was Stafford TOTW, Allanton Scotland and Blackburn under Guy Hennigan's tenue was untouchable. I pity those who decided to ditch the scene during this underground era.
@@mrfloppa2543allanton was dynamite , Jim ohara big respect and to all who attended djs and the support, stomp you bas----- 😂 brilliant memories, Tony's empress too was MAGIC, Stafford was just before my time
Love you and that song my mama love that song❤
Gone but not forgotten
I miss her
🤔😏OH YES INDEED !!! 😉💯👍 PLAYLIST FOR LIFETIME CLASSIC MATERIAL
My mother used to sing this and her other hit " you cant tell me goodbye"
Even though it was before my time, I love this song. Her and the band sound so good.
Fantastic voice !!!
Yesss ,great song when I was young and I still love it !!!😊
What happened to the Northern soul scene in the 80s, The way they dance and the clothes they wear. It just looks like a normal club, not like it was just a few years earlier .....
It had moved on and there was no nsoul uniform and a huge shift in the style of records being spun
The 'Northern Soul Uniform' of baggy keks, circle skirts, vests etc were considered divvy by 79 and was only around for 5 years of our 50+ year history. The 1000 or so who 'kept the faith' whilst the vast majority decided it wasnt for them (until it became popular again) did what we always have done, wore the fashions of the time. The 80s Underground period was utterly superb. I pity those who missed it by choice, those who was there will know what it was like when the opening notes of Mello Souls started and that rush to the dancefloor
@@mrfloppa2543 You obviously don't know as much as you think about Northern soul, Your comment saying (did what we always have done, wore the fashions of the time ) Actually no we didn't, We always had our own Fashion and the music which made us unique. That's why I commented on the clothes, It just looks like any old 80`s club of the time. Your comment made me laugh saying 70`s fashion was considered divvy, This is by people who look like Disco lollopers.....Mr Flopper...
I understand why you'd think that as I suspect you dipped your toe in during the commercial years for a year or so, but look at the dress sense at the early Mecca, Wheel etc... Suede / smooths style that was of the day and not just the soul scene. The Casino too, baggy keks were everywhere in the mainstream as well as the likes of solatios however the Soulers took it a bit further with Spencers and Roxy threads to rediculous 40" bags etc. We turned to pegs, straight jeans etc from 79 onwards, normal fashion. I see this a lot from people who dipped in and now back who like to cosplay, but take it from us who carried on for decades until you decided you like it again that 'your uniform' was a 4, 5 years tops era.
Ms. Swann looked good!! Is she living?
My sister -n-law Thank you for the holes in my ears they never closed
This Song right Here!!!! Yes, it fixes my worst day!! I was a little girl, when this came out! Baby and it moved me then as well as now!
What exactly does northern soul mean? Motown?rare american soul tracks ?What is this scene called/history?
It is a scene that in its beginnings was based mainly in the North of the UK. It is largely black music from the 60s 70s etc that failed commercially or sold nothing.
@@Chalkster101 so I was kinda right? Are you from uk?
I always love love this song go ahead sing that song girlllll love ittttttt❤️❤️❤️❤️👍👍
